Community Guidelines
The short version
- Be who you say you are, with photos that look like you now.
- Treat people with respect. A "no" means no.
- No nudity, no scams, no asking for money, no bots.
- Anything involving minors is an immediate, permanent ban.
- Report anything that worries you. A person reads every report.
These guidelines describe what we expect from everyone who uses Hingtam. They apply to your profile, your photos, your messages, and every interaction you have with another member, including when you meet in person. Agreeing to them is part of using the app.
Who can use Hingtam
- You must be 18 or older. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up, and we do not allow anyone under 18.
- One account per person. Do not create multiple accounts, or an account for someone else.
Be honest about who you are
- Use your own, real photos that look like you now. Do not use someone else's photos, stock or celebrity images, or images edited or created with AI to misrepresent how you look.
- Do not misrepresent your age, relationship status or intentions.
- The city you choose, or your phone's location, must be where you really live or are.
- Photos you upload are screened automatically before anyone else can see them.
Treat people with respect
- No harassment, threats or abusive language, in a chat or on a profile.
- No hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, caste, disability, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation.
- No sexually explicit messages or images. Keep it respectful, and if someone tells you to stop, stop. A second attempt is a violation, not a misunderstanding.
- Respect a "no". If a match is not interested in continuing, do not pressure them, whether to reply, to meet, to send photos or to move to another app.
What you post and share
- No nudity or sexually explicit photos, in your profile or in a chat, including photos that are edited or created with AI.
- No violent, graphic or illegal content.
- No spam, advertising or promotion, and no links to other sites or apps meant to take people off Hingtam. Hingtam is for meeting people, not selling to them.
- Do not share someone else's private information (home address, workplace, phone number) or intimate images without their consent, and do not threaten to share them.
Zero tolerance
These lead to an immediate, permanent ban, without warning:
- Any content involving minors, in any context.
- Threats of violence or terrorism.
- Sharing, or threatening to share, someone's intimate images without their consent.
- Financial scams, or asking a match for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency or a "loan", however it is framed.
- Offering or asking for paid or "compensated" dating, sex work or other commercial services.
- Bots, scripts or other automated use of the app.
We do not ban people for being in distress. If you, or someone you know, may hurt themselves, please contact your local emergency services or someone you trust straight away.
Reporting and what happens next
Every profile and conversation has a Report option. Reporting someone also blocks them for you straight away. Reports go to a person, not an automatic filter. If we agree something broke the rules, we may remove content or permanently ban the account. We will let the person who made the report know the outcome where we can, and we will tell anyone whose content we remove or whose account we ban why, unless that could put someone at risk or the law stops us. We may report illegal activity, including anything involving minors, to the authorities.
Photos and chat images are also screened automatically for nudity and graphic violence before anyone else can see them. These checks can be wrong, and you can ask a person to look again.
If you think we got it wrong
Email support@hingtam.com within 90 days of a decision. We will take another look and reply, normally within 14 days.
Changes to these guidelines
We may update these guidelines as Hingtam grows. For significant changes we will give notice in the app or by email before they take effect.
