Terms of Service
Last updated: Draft
These terms are the agreement between you and Hingtam for using the app. By creating an account, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which these terms incorporate by reference.
Acceptance & eligibility
- You must be 18 or older to use Hingtam. We check your date of birth at sign-up.
- One account per person — no creating an account on someone else’s behalf.
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement where you live, and your use of Hingtam must comply with local law.
Your account
- The information you provide — your name, date of birth, and profile details — must be accurate. Misrepresenting who you are is a violation of these terms and our Community Guidelines.
- You’re responsible for keeping your account secure and for anything that happens through it. Tell us right away at support@hingtam.com if you think someone else has access to your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings.
Conduct & content
Using Hingtam means following our Community Guidelines, which set out what’s expected of you — honesty about who you are, respectful conduct, and what you can and can’t post or share. Violating them is a violation of these terms.
- You keep ownership of the photos, messages, and other content you post. By posting it, you give Hingtam a license to host, store, and display it within the app, solely to operate the service for you and the people you interact with.
- We may review, remove, or refuse content that violates our Community Guidelines or these terms, including through the automated screening described in our Privacy Policy.
Safety disclaimer
Hingtam does not run criminal background checks or verify the identity of members beyond what’s described in these terms. We provide tools — reporting, blocking, automated content screening — to help keep the app safe, but we can’t guarantee the conduct, identity, or intentions of any member.
You’re responsible for your own interactions with other members, on the app and off it, including any decision to meet someone in person. Please read Safety Tips and Safety Centre in Settings before meeting anyone you’ve matched with. To the extent allowed by law, Hingtam is not liable for the conduct of any member, on or off the app.
Subscriptions
Hingtam is free to use, with two optional paid subscription tiers:
- Pro (AUD 9.99/month) — 50 swipes a day, 3 Super Likes a day, the ability to see who has liked you, and access to Top Picks.
- Premium (AUD 14.99/month) — unlimited swipes, 7 Super Likes a day, the ability to see who has liked you, access to Top Picks, and the ability to withdraw a like you’ve already sent.
Paid subscriptions are intended to be billed and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, subject to their respective terms, once payment processing is connected. Before any paid subscription is made available for real purchase, we will finalize and publish full pricing, billing, auto-renewal, and cancellation details here, consistent with applicable consumer protection law in each country Hingtam operates in.
Termination
You can stop using Hingtam and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms or our Community Guidelines, without prior notice for serious violations. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including the safety disclaimer and limitation of liability below — continue to apply after your account is closed.
Disclaimers, liability, and governing law
Hingtam is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the extent allowed by law. We don’t guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that you’ll find a match. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hingtam’s liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the app is limited, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
Because Hingtam operates across Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, the United States, and Bhutan, the governing law and dispute resolution process for these terms — and any consumer-protection rights that can’t be limited by agreement in your country — need to be finalized with legal counsel before launch, rather than set out here in draft form.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Hingtam changes. Material changes will show a new “last updated” date above. Continuing to use Hingtam after an update means you accept the revised terms. If you have questions, contact us at support@hingtam.com.
